Women Quran Researchers from 19 Countries Honored in Tehran

IQNA – The 16th edition of the International Congress of Women Quran Researchers was held at the Milad Tower in Tehran on Thursday.

A total of 90 women from 19 countries with achievements in various Quranic fields were honored at the event, which was attended by Iranian Culture Minister Seyed Abbas Salehi, Custodian of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Marvi, and a number of other officials. 

Speakers at the congress highlighted the status of women in family and society and said that since the victory of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, Muslim women in the country have shined in different Quranic fields.

They underlined the great potential of Quranic women in serving in managerial posts.

They also stressed the need for women to incorporate the teachings of the Quran into their personal and social lives.

In his speech, Hojat-ol-Islam Marvi referred to remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei about enemy attempts at fomenting discord and creating division, noting that, according to the Leader, the only way to counter these threats is to follow the teachings of the Holy Quran.
